Talent Box Software Updates in September & October 2019

Below are the September & October 2019 changes to the Talentbox.app Student and Teacher sites that are used by schools.

Changes that only affect Empow Studios staff (internal changes) will be marked [Empow only].

Student site — learn.talentbox.app

• Rubric Display – After receiving a badge, on the page where the badge was received, a student can now view the rubric used to complete the project.
• Additional Resources – these links below certain projects now display as named hyperlinks instead of a difficult-to-read-URL.

Teacher site — teach.talentbox.app

• Removal of Tracks – Teachers can now remove tracks from a student that other teachers assigned.  Note that this does not include tracks assigned from a session, which appear yellow.
• Quicker Student Saving – Date of birth and zip code are no longer required fields for saving a student in the “Student Summary” tab.  This allows for quicker data entry.
• Track Display Names – Tracks assigned to students in the “Student Summary” tab now show the proper Display Name, acting as a fix for some unclear wording.
• Coming soon: Rubrics in Submissions – Rubrics for a badge will appear alongside the submission on the teacher site.
• [Empow only] CMS: Rich Text Resources – The “description” field in resources is now a rich text field instead of a plain text field.
• [Empow only] CMS: Typeform – Editors can now embed Typeform quizzes into a resource.
• [Empow only] CMS: Resource Type – This field in a resource is now a required field, to avoid causing errors on the student side.
• [Empow only] CMS: Leave or Stay – The wording in the “Leave without saving” dialog was changed to be more consistent and clear.
• [Empow only] Admin site – The secondary staff page has had some menus removed which were outdated or deprecated.
