Talent Box Software Updates in March & April 2019

Below are the March & April 2019 changes to the Talentbox.app Student and Teacher sites (and in some cases, the Windows “Workspace” app) that are used by schools:

Student site — learn.talentbox.app

• Underneath each project, there is now a tab called “Tools” which contains a description of each tool used for the project and where to obtain it.

Teacher site — teach.talentbox.app

• There is now a support ticket system located in the bottom left of the teacher site.  Click the question mark to create a popup which asks for a description of the problem and optional photos.  When the ticket is sent, it will be tracked by the support team at Empow Studios. The more info included in the ticket, the easier it will be to fix!

• In the Tracks Library, Tools listed will now display info about what the tool is and where to obtain it.
• Teachers can now award badges to a student manually, if they wish, in place of the student earning the badge through a submission.  To do this, a teacher must click on a student’s name on the teacher site, then click the large plus sign.
• A bug was fixed where the “Make Active” and “Make Inactive” on the Students page did not appear to do anything.
• A bug was fixed in the Submission Review page where the Session filter was behaving strangely.
• A bug was fixed that caused student passwords to accidentally be re-generated when Enter was pressed.

Windows Workspace  (v.03.02.0025)

• Once logged in, users could previously see the “sync progress” at the bottom of the window, describing how many files were synced between the local computer and the Amazon cloud server.  That feature still exists, but in addition there is now a display to its left showing exactly how many files are being detected in which place. “R” refers to “remote” i.e. how many files are on the Amazon server, and “L” refers to “local” i.e. how many files are on your computer.
• Since earlier versions, there has been a built-in file quantity limit of 5000 files in the Windows Workspace application.  The program will now show a message if a student logs in and has too many files.
